Encompassing more than 300,000 square feet, the new library reflects one of the largest library projects currently in the development stage at any college or university. Envisioned as a state-of-the-art replacement facility for the existing 1,500,000-volume Paley Library, the new facility is intended to showcase the university to the public as well as serve as the locus of research and study for the university community. Contracted in association with Hill International and beginning in the earliest stages of the design and preconstruction phase of the project, the project’s scope included extensive logistical planning, budget refinement and value engineering, constructability analysis, and schedule development. During construction, services include the management and oversight of over twenty-five subcontractors and vendors.
