Canuso Jorden Adding Squash Courts at Racquet Club of Philadelphia

Picture2Canuso Jorden has begun the firm’s second renovation project since 2013 at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. The current project will renovate a portion of the club’s second floor to accommodate and construct three new competitive squash courts. The renovated space will accommodate viewing and seating areas as well as the courts themselves. In addition, the club’s fitness center will also be renovated as part of this project and will feature new equipment and televisions as well updated floor and wall finishes.

rcop-fitness-6The earlier project at the Horace Trumbauer-designed facility in Center City Philadelphia involved the structural and cosmetic renovation of the third floor of the facility. That project was concentrated in the Shower Room and the adjacent Pro Locker Room and involved performing structural repairs of the floor/ceiling assembly as well as reconfiguring and reconstructing mosaic tile flooring and marble walls, partitions, and trim.

Both projects featured the salvaging and reusing of multiple fixtures and finishes that were integral to this building that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Additional information on the current renovation project can be found in this article featured in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
