Hotel Conversion to Bring New Courtyard by Marriott to Philadelphia

Canuso Jorden has begun a renovation project that will create the newest hotel in Philadelphia. Converting the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West hotel along City Avenue into a Courtyard by Marriott will be the result of a $12-million renovation that will be completed at the facility in the summer of 2016. The project will include renovating all 335 guestrooms, constructing a new pool building, modernizing the meeting rooms and banquet space, and creating a newly-themed lobby, restaurant, and bar area.

IMGP1532The guestroom renovation will be based on sample rooms that were recently completed by Canuso Jorden for the owner, designers, and Marriott review and will feature an enlarged guestroom entry, new fixtures in the bathrooms, increased sound attenuation between rooms, new wall and floor finishes throughout, and new furnishings and amenities.

IMGP1523In addition to the physical renovations, the rebranded hotel will also feature new technology throughout, including faster and more secure Wi-Fi service as well as the potential for a guestroom entry system that could be linked directly to guests’ smartphones.

Further details of the project can be found in this recent feature article in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
