Philadelphia Inquirer Columnist Compliments Design of Complex Built By Canuso Jorden
Inga Saffron, the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Pulitzer-Prize-Winning Architecture Critic, praised the design of The Granary apartment complex which was recently constructed by Canuso Jorden. Located adjacent to an old granary that served as a storage bin for wheat and corn, the apartment building and its neighbor are described as “Castles in the Air” by Ms. Saffron. Referring to the wall system on the new complex that was designed by DAS Architects, Ms. Saffron suggests that “…the whole façade is skillfully composed. DAS extracts a surprising amount of depth and texture from the low cost panels…” Working as part of a team with both DAS and the owner, Canuso Jorden was able to suggest and construct economical, efficient, and sustainable systems throughout the building thus allowing the facility to be labelled successful by all parties involved in the process.
